Hello all my juice friends!
WHEW….. only 2 more days to go! I will tell you the things I have missed the most throughout this detox. The crunch of popcorn, sauteed kale, blue corn chips and hummus… SOME OF MY FAVS! Today I was a little more weary. I was very tired, and my body was sore. Every time I detox, my symptoms tend to be different. I know what I did wrong, I didn’t drink enough water. I preach all the time to my clients “drink more water” and I did terrible with it today! Oh well… I will do better tomorrow. I ate small raw meals throughout the day. I found organic baby peppers at Kroger Lynwood and snacked on those…. they were delicious! Even though I snacked throughout the day on raw healthy food, I was starving!! It’s like my metabolism has kicked into high speed. I have lost about 3 lbs.
I absolutely loved the beet, lemon, kale, apple juice today. It had a berry taste even though it didn’t have berries in it. My favorite meal today was lunch. Amy, my raw food business partner and I made raw corn chowder that was delicious. I have included the recipe below. ENJOY!
On another note: I can’t wait to tell you about my new fall/winter juice tomorrow (Raw zesty Orange Cider). I created it last week and it is mighty tasty. Off to bed, good night to all…..
RAW CORN CHOWDER:
5 c corn or 5 ears of corn; 2 1/2 c almond milk; 1 avocado; 1/8 c alpha sprouts (if available); Salt, curry, garlic powder to taste.
Put 4 1/2 c of corn and the rest of the ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth and slightly warmed by the blender (I use a vitamix; www.vitamix.com/) . Add seasonings and adjust them to your taste. Pour into bowls and garnish with remaining corn. YUM-YUM!
