A random thought came upon me….

Hello all!

I was cutting fruits and veggies tonight, getting all prepared to juice in the morning, when it hit me that I never posted day 6 of my detox/cleanse.  My meals throughout day six were pretty much the same as days 1-5.  Like I said before I am a creature of habit.  For dinner on day six I did have a different kind of smoothie…. “Cherry, Mango“.  It was YUMMY!  I will share the recipe with you, see below.

Over all, after day six of my detox/cleanse I felt GREAT!  It is something I try to incorporate into my eating regimen at least every three months.  It is worth it to me to get all those yucky toxins out of my body.  We constantly breathe in toxic air, smoke and fumes. We also don’t always eat perfectly, which can add unwanted toxins as well.  And while our bodies are always ridding of these toxins, it becomes increasingly harder the older we get. These unnatural substances build up inside our bodies and could cause many different health problems. This makes it necessary to cleanse internally. See below for two recipes I used throughout my detox:

Mango, Cherry Smoothie: 1/3  cup mango, 1/3 cup cherries, 10 oz unsweetened almond milk (I make mine from scratch, but it is ok to use store bought), one scoop of Peas protein powder (I buy this product at Natural Affects or you can get it at any health food store), 1 tbs of flax oil, 2 tbs of raw honey, and a little ice. Blend well and ENJOY.  It is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Massaged Kale:


  • 1 bunch kale, stalks removed and discarded, leaves thinly sliced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • Freshly ground black pepper


In large serving bowl, add the kale, half of lemon juice, a drizzle of oil and a little kosher salt. Massage until the kale starts to soften and wilt. Set aside while you make the dressing.

In a small bowl, whisk remaining lemon juice with the honey and lots of freshly ground black pepper. Pour in the 1/4 cup of oil and put in a blender and blend together, you will get a dressing consistency.

Pour the dressing over the kale. Toss all ingredients together and serve. You can add any fruit to this kale recipe. =)

    • Hi there Dr. House. =) It was great seeing you as well. I do not have a recipe book at this time, but I am working on one. We will have a small recipe book to give you at the class. Which recipe are you interested in and I will make sure I get it or them to Grace Anne or bring them to the class. Grace Anne told me that you were able to sign up for the class. Thank you so much! We are really excited about educating others on how to prepare gourmet raw foods.
